Downloading and installation
Before downloading EQUINOX-3D, please see the licensing page.
Linux (x86 64 bit)Download: EQUINOX-3D v0.9.6.1, Linux
Just extract the file by: right-click->Extract (in KDE), or to extract it in a shell, type (replace "package_name" with the name of the of the file you downloaded):
tar xzvf package_nameThe main executable will be "eqx" in the newly created directory. You can run that from a shell, or create an icon for it in KDE/Gnome, using the image "eqx.png".
Mac OS-X (for Intel-based Macs) - temporarily unavailable.Download: EQUINOX-3D v0.9.4
Just extract the downloaded file (double-click) and click on the EQUINOX-3D icon to launch the application.

As of version 0.9.0, EQUINOX-3D is "installation-free" on all operating systems.
IRIXDownload: EQUINOX-3D v0.7.45, SGI IRIX 6.5 MIPS4 (CPU>=R5000)
Type the following (replace "package_name" with the name of the of the file you downloaded):
gunzip package_nameThis will create a new file with a ".tar" extension, which now you can unpack with:
tar xvf name_of_this_new_fileThe main executable will be "bin/eq" in the newly created directory.
